We Are 164
We are known for our unique ciabatta and focaccia sandwiches, specialising in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours.
Situated in a Victorian building on Woodhouse Lane, we are opposite the Parkinson Building of the University of Leeds under a big red canopy.
You can’t miss our red façade and neon; we have been serving the people of Leeds with sandwiches and coffee from here since 1994.

Ciabatta + Focaccia
Every evening we hand mix and hand shape our ciabatta and focaccia dough, which is then baked overnight so it’s fresh out of the ovens in the morning, ready to be made into our sandwiches.
The recipe for our bread (first developed back in 1994), is simple, and designed primarily for one thing – to compliment a filling to make a great sandwich.

"It's the end of an era" 😥 @cafe164 #LEEDS https://thehootleeds.com/food-drink/its-the-end-of-an-era-cafe-164-is-closing-its-cult-favourite-cafe-space-and-gallery-after-11-years/
Having spent time on Quarry Hill (inc. living there for 3 years) I’m sad to hear this - lots of fond memories & filled bellies from this wonderful cafe! From coffee shop meetings with friends to emergency hangover sandwiches! Very glad they’ll still be about in Headingley though! https://twitter.com/cafe164/status/1561602063141949441
News from us ❤️
4I’m glad we as an industry are communicating this stuff cos when we inevitably raise prices we don’t want it to be seen as a money grab. https://twitter.com/Manjitskitchen/status/1504139310756511746
